What are Advantages of GCP's NAS (Filestore) vs. NFS

  1. I need NAS in Google Cloud Platform so that my VMs can all read some static files and serve them to my users. The follow-on requests for same files will be served out of Google's CDN so IOPS is not a big deal.

  2. Google's Filestore (NFS) seems like a nice fit but it's really pricey ~$220+/month per TB.

  3. If my total footprint is 5TB, would it make more sense just to mount my own NFS drive on a dedicated VM?

What am I missing here?
