I have nginx server, with simple php-fpm. here is the configuration

server {
    listen 80 default_server;
        server_name _;
    index index.php index.html;
    root /var/www/public;
    client_max_body_size 32M;

    location / {
        gzip off;
        try_files $uri /index.php?$args;

    location ~ \.php$ {
        gzip off;
        fastcgi_split_path_info ^(.+\.php)(/.+)$;
        fastcgi_pass php:9000;
        fastcgi_index index.php;
        include fastcgi_params;
        fastcgi_param SCRIPT_FILENAME $document_root$fastcgi_script_name;
        fastcgi_param PATH_INFO $fastcgi_path_info;

with this configuration and "gzip off" in the main nginx.conf configuration, i still see that the site i am running,its still showing gzip is enabled. how is it possible? how can i disable gzip? As i need to disable it for some development purpose and some content encoding issues.

Here is the website having issue
