My parents will not allow me to study theoretical physics

I am currently a second year aerospace engineering student, I have realized I do not want to become an engineer, rather, pursue my biggest quest of all time: to become a physicist. Only thing is, despite my strong will, my parents on which I rely to provide for my tuition, accommodation, will not allow it. They state that it is not a profession that earns one a great deal of money and always give the argument of job security against it and so on... Over the course of two years, the toll of doing something I do not want, surrounded by people with whom I share barely anything, has gotten bigger and bigger. Anyone who is or has been in this situation and might want to share their experience ? Thanks for your time.
