How troubleshoot VPS crash

I am new to Linux and using a VPS provider. I have an Ubuntu 16.04 droplet and it randomly crashes. I have viewed all of the logs in '/var/log' and have not found any useful info.

Below is the last entry in the syslog before the crash and the first entry after boot:

May 15 21:20:08 remote rc.local[338]: 2019/05/15 21:20:08 gq-server.go:139: +1 non SS TLS traffic from xx.xx.xx.xx:38746
May 15 21:33:29 remote systemd[1]: Starting Certbot...

I have contacted the VPS provider but they simply responded saying they fixed the issue but of course it crashed again.

How can I find out if it is a power or hardware issue or if the cause is related to my server instance/config?

What other info do I need to post here?
