Does CharacterController benefit from adding lerp?

Does CharacterController benefit from adding lerp?

as in this script.

mouse = Input.GetAxis("Mouse X");
current = Mathf.Lerp(current, mouse, Time.deltaTime * 10);
transform.Rotate(0, current * 600 * Time.deltaTime, 0);

I was using,

transform.Rotate(0, mouse * 18, 0);

But read into the idea of lerp and wrote that.
